Here is what we believe to be the top 5 best things to do in Miami!
Ocean Drive – South Beach
You can’t visit Miami without stepping foot onto Ocean Drive. This lively street is filled with all things Miami is practically known for. From the art deco buildings to the restaurants and shops in between and if that’s not enough, just cross the street and you’re on the beach. One of my favorite things to do whenever I visit is just walk around in South Beach…actually, scratch the walking, renting a bike is the way to go. Even though it is super touristy and hectic at times, cruising around feels so peaceful.
Wynwood
If you are looking for the artsy-fartsy part of town, you will find it in Wynwood – famously known for the Wynwood walls. This modern art district was transformed from previously abandoned warehouses and buildings to now the home of vibrant walls and trendy shops. Make sure you have some space freed up on your phone to snap some pics because let’s face it, everyone is having their own personal photoshoot when in Wynwood.
Vizcaya
Want to visit a little piece of Europe without whipping out your passport? Make sure you visit this historical landmark situated right next to downtown Miami. This villa (now museum) also comes equipped with a lush garden that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Given the timeless beauty of this place, it remains one of the city’s most visited attractions.
Key Biscayne
My next go to when in Miami is Key Biscayne, a barrier island just south of South Beach. To be more specific, Bill Baggs State Park, which is right at the tip of the island. Filled with perfectly aligned palm trees and the famous Cape Florida Lighthouse, it feels so secluded from the rest of the city.
Helicopter Ride (how could we not reccomend this one?)
While we are recommending the 5 best things to do in Miami, we couldn’t help but make this number 1! Feel like a bird as you soar in a helicopter tour over Miami Beach and see a whole new angle of some of Miami’s top attractions. Keep a lookout for wildlife as you take in the bright blue water that hugs the shore of this incredible city. Make sure your phone is charged because you definitely will want to capture this moment.
